邓穗欣教授将基于他最近两本关于制度分析的著作，就当代中国治理面临的主要问题及解决之道进行探讨。在托克维尔“正确理解的自我利益”和“政府集权但管理分权”的洞见基础上，以新的视角构想中国的治理改革。 Based on his two recent books on institutional analysis, Professor Tang will examine some of the major governance challenges in contemporary China and problems with the current approaches to addressing these challenges. He will then outline an alternative perspective for re-conceptualizing governance reform in China, based on Alexis De Tocqueville’s insights on “self-interest rightly understood” and “centralized government but decentralized administration”. |

邓穗欣教授的主要研究领域包括制度分析与设计、公共池塘资源治理、环境政治与政策分析、跨部门协同治理、治理改革等。著有Institutions and Collective Action: Self-Governance in Irrigation (ICS Press, 1992), Ten Principles for a Rule-ordered Society: Enhancing China’s Governing Capacity (China Economic Publishing House, 2012)和Institutions, Regulatory Styles, Society, and Environmental Governance in China (Oxford: Routledge, 2014)等著作，并在公共管理以及中国研究、环境研究领域的顶尖国际杂志上发表大量论文。 Professor Shui-Yan Tang’s research focuses on institutional analysis and design, common-pool resource governance, environmental politics and policy, collaborative governance, and governance reform. He is the author of Institutions and Collective Action: Self-Governance in Irrigation (ICS Press, 1992), Ten Principles for a Rule-ordered Society: Enhancing China’s Governing Capacity (China Economic Publishing House, 2012) and Institutions, Regulatory Styles, Society, and Environmental Governance in China (Oxford: Routledge, 2014). He has published in numerous top-tier journals in the field of China studies, public administration and environment research. |
